History: To most who watch wrestling Drew McIntyre is a rather new face to television. Originally premiering only in 2006, he was only on a short while. Being a face that implored fans to cheer for him so he could get his citizenship. This storyline quickly fizzled and McIntyre was moved to WWE's development territory.

In his re-premier, in 2009, he made an impact by attacking wrestler R-Truth while Truth was making his entrance. Over the next few weeks he continued his attacks against Truth stating that he was here to wrestle and not to party. It was about a month after that he was introduced by Vince McMahon as a future WWE champion that he had personally signed. It was then that McIntyre claimed his new moniker as The Chosen One. It was then that McIntyre began a full feud with Truth culminating in his first match since his return. McIntyre went on to win the match in less than 5 minutes with his Future Shock DDT.

McIntyre went on to feud with Finlay with most of the encounters happening without a proper match until, when they finally met, it lasted under 2 minutes with McIntyre winning.

Next McIntyre moved himself in line to be number one contender to the Intercontinental Title by defeating then champion John Morrison in a non-title match. He faced Morrison for the title at TLC, winning his first title in WWE.

McIntyre's winning streak was ended by Kane, but was expunged from the record by Mr. McMahon. Shortly after he had another loss to Matt Hardy that had the same results. His loss was erased due to Mr. McMahon's say-so. It wasn't until he faced the Undertaker that McIntyre was decisively defeated.

After this he feuded with Matt Hardy, where he continuosly attacked Hardy, which resulted with McIntyre being stripped of the title and suspended. Of course McMahon came to the rescue and forced Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long to reinstate McIntyre. McIntyre returned to face Kofi Kingston, who had won a tournament to crown a new IC champion. McIntyre went on to lose the bout.

McIntyre went on to feud again with Hardy. This culminated with Hardy forming a tag team with Christian and McIntyre forming one with "Dashing" Cody Rhodes. Rhodes also had problems with Hardy and Christian. The team went on to win the WWE tag team championship in a tag team turmoil match. The team went on to have a short reign which ended with their team dissolving.

Recently McIntyre has entered into a storyline where he's been trying to woo fellow female wrestler Kelly Kelly, who turns him down due to his aggressive attitude.

Why I Like Him: McIntyre has been kind of a fresh face. Like I've said I'm kind of a sucker for heels and McIntyre's persona has been right up my ally. He's aggressive and I love to hear his Scottish brouge. Also in the day and age of reused finishers I've seen nothing like McIntyre's Future Shock DDT. I sit on the edge of my seat waiting for him to unleash it on his foe. Finally his music is awesome. It's common for some sort of phrase or intro to usher in a wrestlers theme music, McIntyre's is the opposite. With it's slow methodic intro leading into a song about how he makes broken dreams come true has me singing along everytime.

Final Thoughts: Although McIntyre's aggressive heel is a pretty common Gimmick, McIntyre makes it fresh with his Scottish brogue, non-formulaic theme, and innovative finisher. I'm fully excited to see McIntyre's destiny as The Chose One become realized by winning a major title in the near future.
